Story
Hello!
On the 21st of November after a crash course (which won't involve any real life crashes) I'll be performing in Covent Garden as a part of a stand up comedy gig for comedy novices...
I'm doing this for quite a few different reasons. Because I've wanted to try stand up for a long time and experiment in the best possible way. Two I've been inspired by a colourful friend who given her talent at guiding people will probably appear in a French TV advert for fly fishing that riffs ones by a certain country and holiday company. And lastly because as an aspiring artist I want to learn a few new tricks, without pushing old ones out!
BUT given my warrior complex there's always something that can involve a righteous and ingenious cause. So on this occasion I'm raising money for a clever organisation lead by disabled people called Disability Rights UK (DRUK).
Why?
Because aside from being my work place DRUK does a lot of clever projects that helps disabled people be part of the community on our own terms. For instance a brother project at work, DRILL has been providing grants for lead research lead by disabled people into independent living . I could go on but the short story is that all of my colleagues are doing a lot of clever work in different ways that deserves cash to continue.
So do donate generously to this clever cause. If you don't have the funds then a bit of publicity on social media always helps!
