From Barcelona to Marrakech - a bicycle journey across two continents
"We would of course be able to start like this: How come on like that idiotic idea that you should ride to Barcelona ?????
Or ..... Peter Bus and Lena Spark of new bicycle adventure. "
On November 1 begins a new adventure for us, ie Peter Petersson, Lena Högberg. We start from Gnosjö - in Småland, Sweden. Hopefully the train stops there, and we follow all the way to Barcelona in Spain. It might be nice to sit and look out through a tågfönster and just relax. That's right! We think of the global environment, of course. Should be exciting to see some of Europe from a train compartment. We must of course avoid going night train, because we want to get value for money and see as much as possible. (Talk about saving Smalanders!)
Arriving in Barcelona, we hope that we will find our bikes and our packaging. Anyway, they are transported into the past. We stop enough for a few days in Barcelona and "watching mode". Yes, then you only need to cycle. The final destination is Marrakech, Morocco (we think). Why do you give out on this kind of self-tormenting journey. Is it total to the mash ochi decisive direction perhaps?
If we go back in history a bit, then rode Peter, I and a colleague to me, Ann-Marie Carlsson all the way from from Gnosjö to Barcelona. The year was 2003rd The bike trip was fantastic. We saw an awful lot. Got to know ourselves. We felt such freedom as we sat on bicycle saddles and walked us through a windy, rainy and sunny even Europe. (It may be a new hit song!). We enjoyed the camping life, eat great food on a stove, felt a lot of scents from roses to thank manure odors. Met interesting people (more Stoller, a friend of mine put it. What did she mean by that?).
Once returned home to the little village Håkentorp said Peter to me: There was so much fun to ride, so we must continue! Yes, I hung on. We bicycles from Barcelona down to Marrakesh in Morocco, because I've always wanted to see the city. This time we are only 2 people who unpack the bikes with various paraphernalia, for Ann-Marie will be at home and match their grandchildren, which is also fantastic.
As a Chinese proverb says: A 1000-mile journey begins with the first step.
Many may think that we are an odd couple. A 58-year-old and a 26-year-old. Aunt and nephew. Ideal constellation. We are both in our best ages! Come along on our little bike excursion on our website .......
Some ask me if I'm not afraid of anything. Well, one thing worries me. What if Peter sold me for a few camels down in Morocco!
We have always thought about being thankful that we may make various adventures and have it as good as we have it in Sweden and other Western countries.
What can not be better to raise money to collect bicycles from England who are unwanted and ship them to Africa?
Add a grants to help more people to carry on this wonderful means of transport.
Sincerely,
Peter and Lena
