What is 10k for £10k – LEJOG part 2?
The baton has been handed over!
Earlier this year, our GTRF MME South colleagues collectively completed the 812 mile distance from Land’s End to John O’Groats in a day.
They raised a fantastic £7,726.
It is now the turn of the GTRF BB South & London team to take the baton, achieve our own challenge of walking, running, cycling, swimming 10k each to bring that total up to our collective goal of £10k.
We are set to conquer 10k of the South Downs, or undertake our own individual challenges in our local areas.
Why are we attempting this challenge?
We are aiming to raise £10,000 for four amazing charities – The British Red Cross Ukraine Appeal, The Alzheimer’s Society, The Hummingbird Centre and Stop Domestic Abuse, with the total raised to be fund matched by HSBC UK.
Please see below for some more information on The Ukraine Crisis Appeal:
The Ukraine Crisis Appeal is one of our four chosen charities. The humanitarian situation in the Ukraine is increasingly dire and desperate. Millions of people have no safe place to call home. More than 2.5 million have already left Ukraine, while countless more are still trapped underground, taking cover from the shelling, and desperate for a safe escape. Red Cross teams have been working around the clock to get critical care to those who need it most, both in Ukraine and its bordering countries. But with recent freezing temperatures, and ongoing violence, an enormous number of people urgently need help right now.
