Story
On the 4th August we (Cath, Helen, Jason and Sharon) will start cycling from Lands End in Cornwall to John O'Groats in Scotland. In total we will be cycling nearly a 1,000 miles over 10 days, yes that's right on average we will be cycling 100 miles a day for 10 days! Despite all being fairly experienced cyclists, this will be our most brutal challenge yet and we're just a little bit scared! We would like to share our journey with you .... You can get involved and help motivate us by donating to either of our chosen charities, Cyclists Fighting Cancer (CFC ) and Kairos WWT. Kairos WWT - supports and advocates for women at risk of and subject to sexual exploitation. Most have been sexually exploited as children, around three-quarters grew up in care and many have never experienced a safe, loving relationship. The vast majority are routinely subjected to at least one of: sexual violence, domestic violence and exploitation through coercive and controllong perpetrators. Every woman we meet has experienced trauma, all of the women live in abject poverty and most have no safe space to call home. CFC - Approximately 2,400 children and young people (up to, and including the age of 18) are diagnosed with cancer each year in the UK. We are passionate about helping all of these families along this difficult journey. We help children to regain their physical fitness and mental wellness by giving them new bikes, adapted trikes and specialist support during treatment and into recovery. We are passionate about both charities, both do some fabulous work, both are local and neither recieve any central or local governement funding, they are both completly dependent on donations such as this. Any contribution, large or small, will make a big impact. Thank you
