Story

Our Mum/Granny has recently been diagnosed with breast cancer for the second time after having had a single mastectomy @ 10 years ago. To show our love and support as a family we have decided to set ourselves a challenge which will run from the surgery on 26th March 2021 to the end of the radiotherapy treatment which will be approx. 6 weeks after the surgery.
The challenge is to cycle, run, walk or swim the distance from Bristol to Mt Everest which is @ 7500km, and to complete it within 6 weeks. The last week will require us to climb the equivalent of Mt Everest (8848m) with the final 100 miles being non-stop.
We need to average 180km per day for 6 weeks which will take some doing. We will track and share our progress via a Strava link which will hopefully show each activity on this webpage.
We’ve decided to fundraise for B.U.S.T, and we’d really appreciate your support. B.U.S.T (Breast Cancer Unit Support Trust) is a Bristol based charity founded by patients for patients to support the work of the Southmead Hospital Breast Care Centre which is the hospital that is treating our Mum/Granny. Since 1991 BUST has spent £1,212,786 on equipment and resources to support innovation in diagnosis and treatment of breast disease.
