Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

In October 2010 I lost my much loved step-dad to cancer, and this was one of the last photos taken of Tony before cancer took him away from us. For those that know me, this was a difficult period for my family and I as it attacked and took Tony away from us over two difficult years. Tony was too young. He was a fit, non-smoker and loved life, yet what I now know about this aggressive disease is that it does not discriminate. He fought the battle with every inch of energy and drive for two hard years until he could fight no more but what made his end as comfortable as possible was the care and support from the remarkable staff at St John's Hospice in Lancaster. They provide dedicated care 24 hours a day and people don't realise how this service can help.

From the point where Tony left us I decided I had to give back which is why I am asking you to help me. In September 2013 I will cycle 980 miles in 9 days from Lands End to John O'Groats. I wanted to set a difficult challenge and one that would truly test me, and one whose cause will keep me focussed and determined to reach the end - so please, please, please dig deep to help me raise much needed funds to help St John's Hospice provide the service that helps keep hope alive. This money will go such a long way for them and will help towards care for other families.

If you do the easy work, let me do the hard work and whatever you can donate I will greatly appreciate. With thanks.
