Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page.

Legro has joined together with his old cycling mates to cycle from Lands end to John O'Groats. We all know someone that has prostate cancer or know someone that has died from the illness. Charities have struggled during COVID so we are wanting to do our bit and help out. Please donate this very good cause.

Legro: I have always been worried about prostate cancer. I have friends and relations living with prostate cancer going through the trauma of diagnosis and the treatment. This one is for you guys.

Steve CronshawI’ve had mates and known lots of good friends with prostate issues and cancer. I wanted to raise money and awareness for this good cause. At the same time, I am cycling the LEJOG with some old mates that I raced alongside in the 1970s. I have not seen some of them for 40-years.

Dave Marsh: I raced back in the 1980's and managed some good results with wins in both National and International races. However I have have not ridden a bike for over 30  years, but when I was asked by Legro to join him on a long bike ride to raise money for prostate cancer and with with all my mates I used to race with, I couldn't turn it down. I know it will not be easy, why do I want to do this? I have lost friends to cancer & I have friends currently fighting cancer, I want to help as much as I can

Alan Rouse:  What male wouldn't want to support this worthwhile cause as it is one of the most common cancers for men

Peter JacquesHaving lost a good friend recently with this disease,  there is no bigger incentive to try and help others live their lives with their friends still by their side

Paul: DoddI am proud to a part of this team of old cycling mates as we take on the challenge to complete the famous LEJOG.  Our aim is to raise awareness and funds for Prostate Cancer.  We will be self-funding the trip to make sure all donations go directly to Prostate Cancer UK., donations gratefully accepted at this trying time.

Neil Johnston "I was sorry to hear that Gerry will be unable to ride Legro's LE JOG and surprised to be asked if I could take his place on this challenging  ride covering over 900 mile in 10 days.  I'm sure that the majority of people know someone who is suffering with prostate cancer so I' delighted to be riding with a great bunch of guys raising money for Prostate Cancer Charity, fund research and provide support"

Glen MitchelI have been made more aware in the last few years with a few of my drivers going through prostrate problems and cancer. The support and care that they had was excellent and I would like to do my part in creating awareness.

Mark Zaschke.  I feel honoured to be asked to join these guys on this epic ride and with a chance to raise money for this worthy cause
So many of my family and friends have been diagnosed & treated for prostate cancer that I feel this is my chance to give something back. Looking forward to the challenge, I think! :)
