Assalamu alaykum,

Some of you may already know that my dear friend Gully (Gulshan), who has come to almost all of us as a blessing, is going through a very difficult time in life with a terminal illness.

I have taken part in many charity appeals in the past, of which Gully always played a great role and took the lead to make them happen. As her friend it is my duty to now do something on her behalf. Even in these difficult times she only thinks of others, I remember her calling me, barely being able to speak to ask the spelling of the children's names so that she could plant trees on their behalf.

A dear friend of hers has already started fundraising for a Masjid in Nigeria on her behalf. I will show my support for that and encourage everyone to also. But I felt I had to personally do something also and could not let it be. I spoke to Seeking Rewards Foundation who said they look to do a borehole well next to every Masjid project they do in Nigeria. So to link the 2, I am raising funds for the borehole well next to it, firstly as water supply for construction and then used for wudhu and also for the community.

I pray that Allah allows us to give from that which he gave to us in the first place in His way for the sake of our dear friend Gully. I pray Allah accepts it and makes it heavy on her scales and that it remains a continuous charity / sadaqa jariyah in her name.
