Story
Our boots are made for walking………but Boots make our blister plasters.
Every year in the UK, hospices provide more than 26 million
hours of care and support to over 360,000 people. From managing someone’s pain to supporting them and their family emotionally and socially, hospices help and inspire people to live the end of their lives to the full. Yet only a third of the funding needed to provide these vital services comes from government. The rest, more than £1.9m per day, must be raised by hospices themselves.
That’s why a team from Clydesdale Bank’s Legal and Governance department are dusting off their walking boots (and in some cases
buying their first ever pair) to compete in a sponsored marathon hike. We’ll complete 26 miles across the Yorkshire Dales on September 16th.
With your support, and match funding from the Bank, we aim to raise a minimum of £6000. That’s enough to provide more than 240 hours of hospice care for a patient.
Thank you for any contribution you can make. In return, as well as knowing that you are supporting the development and professionalism of end of life care in the UK, we’ll provide you with embarrassing stories from our preparations as well as ridiculous pictures from the challenge itself. Surely that’s worth a few quid?
Thank you.
