LOROS Hospice is a local charity delivering free care and support to over 2,500 people across Leicester, Leicestershire and Rutland each year. Our free high-quality, compassionate services are tailored to be special and unique to each terminally ill patient, their family and carers.

Story

Hospice charities are a bedrock of support for people facing end of life. Their resource, guidance and companionship offer comfort and reassurance to countless individuals, our friends and family.

LOROS is a charity whose aim is to enhance the quality of life of adult patients with cancer, progressive neurological conditions and end-stage organ failure for whom curative treatment is no longer possible. Patients are treated at the Hospice and in the community based upon clinical need, regardless of background and the ability to pay.

Running is my way of sticking it to loneliness. Living alone can be hard, even without a global pandemic. Out there are people living alone with end stage illness who are braver than you can imagine. Hospice charities are key to sustaining their resolve. I run to offer thanks to LOROS for their care to our friend, Carlo.
