In memory of Alan Clarke
Our world-leading research is improving our understanding of cancer stem cells and offers the potential to transform the way we tackle disease.

Story

I am running in memory of the late Prof Alan Clarke (1963-2015), the founder of the European Cancer Stem Cell Research Institute.  Prof Clarke was a major figure in cancer research and had a great influence over my career and many others.  He is sorely missed so I’ll be thinking of him on the way around.

Here at the Institute, we are committed to developing new cancer therapies which make a real difference to the lives of patients.  Our innovative and cutting-edge research looks attacking cancer in a different way. We specifically focus on the idea that a small number of cells are responsible for the spread of tumours, and that targeting these will revolutionise cancer treatment (see video).

Ultimately, our goal is to transform the survival rates for patients for suffering from all types of cancer.

Thanks for all your support.

All the money donated will go solely to research projects.
