Thanks for visiting my fundraising page.
On the 21st February 2008, I had the misfortune of being knocked off my motorcycle by a car driver. The car driver swerved into my path as he was keen to miss a pheasant. The pheasant lived anoher day although me and my beloved motorcycle were worse for wear.
After flying through the air, i hit my head on a man hole cover which resulted in three fractures to the neck and one in my back. I also had serious injuries to my head, hands and feet.
I came to rest in a stud farm, near Balsall Common. After the accident it was total silence and for a few seconds i did think i was dead and had been placed in a stud farm for doing good deeds. My dreams we shattered when I was awoken by a hairy bike asking if I was ok. Its probably best if I do not repeat my reply. :)
A fast resposne unit attended the scene, diagnosed I had a broken neck and serious head wound and called in the warwickshire air ambulance. The air ambulance is funded totally by chariety donations and I was amazed when two paramedics and a doctor exited the air ambulance to my aid. Despite being in the middle of no where, 4 minutes later I was in a resuss room at Walsgrave hospital in Coventry.
I am extremly grateful that I survived the accident, even more grateful when the MRI scan confirmed the extent of my injuries and yet I still had movement of all limbs. I have no doubt that the actions of the fast response and the air ambulances made a differemce to my survival on that day.
Unfortunately a film crew were also onboard filming for the new series of the real accident and emergency (starts may 6th, sky one at 8pm) I am told film exists of me lying semi naked in a field after they have cut off my leahers. I would like to put a disclaimer out now ,as I do believe I had an excuse for any bad language and stupid behaviour. I really hope my underwear looks clean and I dont look too fat. Apparently TV makes you look 10 1b heavier !
As you can imagine this chariety means an awlful lot to me on a personal level, so please show your support and donate.
