Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
This is the second year myself and others are doing the 10K Twilight Walk in Warwick in loving memory of my husband Lee to raise vital funds for The Brain Tumour Charity.
As many of you may already know devastatingly Lee was diagnosed with a large cancerous brain tumour in October 2010 at only 33 years old & just 6 months after we had got married. He so bravely underwent major brain surgery, radiotherapy & chemotherapy and additionally fought the added complication of life threatening Septicemia.
After a long and very tough period of months of treatment & recovery - Lee amazingly managed to get back to work full time and we were able to start getting back to a more 'normal' life without hospital schedules and appointments being such a dominant part of our life. In summer 2012 Lee was told that he was in remission and we were so so happy - looking forward to getting on with our newly married life together.
But devastatingly just a year afterwards in Summer 2013 - we were told that the tumour had come back and was even more aggressive. Lee so bravely underwent yet another major brain operation and had chemo put directly into his head. Unfortunately Lee suffered complications after surgery and was left paralysed on his right side. Despite all this Lee kept smiling and being positive just as he always had done throughout all of his health battles. He did get some movement back in his legs & seemed to be improving well for a time. However, devastatingly the tumour was just too aggressive and Lee suddenly and unexpectedly slipped into a coma & just 4 days after this he passed away, in October 2013. He was just 35 years old.
Brain tumours are on the increase at 2% a year and they are the biggest cancer killer of children and adults under 40, yet they only receive just 1% of the cancer research money from government.
Lee was such a wonderful man who loved life & we were both looking forward to sharing many married years together. Myself, his family & friends miss him so so much.
We walk the 10K in his memory to raise vital funds to find a cure to beat this awful disease so other people won't have to go through what we have and myself and the family continue to go through. Please help us and give what you can in Lee's memory. Thanks so much. God bless you xDonating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure.
