Lee was first diagnosed with a brain tumour in October 2010 (just 6 months after he was married) and had an operation to remove a large part of it a month later. Analysis classified the tumour as a Glioblastoma Multiform cancerous brain tumour and he subsequently had chemotherapy and radiotherapy to reduce the size of the remaining part of the tumour. The tumour lay dormant until July 2013 when a routine MRI confirmed that it had returned high grade and was aggressive in it's growth. Lee consequently had another operation to debulk the tumour and depose of the chemotherapy wafer implants (Gliadel wafers) into the brain. The operation although had some impact sadly resulted in complications for Lee and failed to stop the aggressive nature of the tumour. Lee sadly lost his battle on 8th October 2013.

Lee until the last battled the illness with all that he had and overcame many severe set backs including septicemia, kidney disease and appendicitis to return to work full time after the initial diagnosis and maintain a sense of normality with his wife Abigail. 

Lee was many things to many people, husband, son, brother, uncle, grandson, nephew, cousin, friend and collague to name a few. We felt that it would be fitting to set up a fundraising page to raise money for The Brain Tumour Charity in memory of Lee.
