We organise disaster relief worldwide to be there for people in desperate need
Story
The devastating magnitude 7.8 earthquake that shook Nepal on the 25th of April has left a trail of suffering, misery and destruction in its wake costing its economy over $5 billion. The death toll has crossed 5000 and is predicted to double. It has also left millions of children displaced in Nepal and its surrounding countries including India and China. Many communities have been wrecked and its people, left homeless. With half its population below the poverty line and over 40% of its population being children, Nepal desperately requires relief efforts.
The Leeds Indian Student Association is carrying out a campaign #LeedsWithNepal to raise donations for the #NepalEarthquake in the following 2 weeks. We are donating £200 and request our members to donate as well. Even a £5 donation will go a long way. In fact we promise to match your donations! we promise to match your £5 donation to make it £10! We also request other societies to join the campaign and make any possible donations!
