Story
On 18th July 2013 eleven riders (Simon Longfellow, Steve Milner, Adam Boocock, Matthew Lee, Louise Lee, Sara Borne, Allyson Foster, Paul Crabtree, Scott Thomson, Kevin Judd and Jim Spurr) aided by a two-man support team (Kevin Hartley and Andrew Johnson) will be cycling from Leeds to Paris over 3 days.
We are aiming to raise as much as possible for Leeds General Infirmary Paediatric Intensive Care Unit in memory of Adam James Milner who sadly passed away in August 2009 following a choking incident at nursery. Adam was cared for in his last few days by the nurses and other staff at LGI PICU and since then several events have taken place in his memory raising many thousands of pounds.
Having conquered the Yorkshire Three Peaks in 2011, the National Three Peaks in 2012, this year's challenge is to cycle from Leeds to Paris in three days. On 18th July we ride from Leeds to Hull for the overnight ferry to Zebrugge, then a (very) long day in the saddle to Peronne in Northern France, before riding into Paris on Saturday 20th July (a total of 260-270 miles).
On the Sunday we will take the chance to see how it is done properly as we watch the final leg of the 100th Tour de France come to its conclusion in Paris - hopefully with another British rider in yellow!
Pleas donate as much as you can for this great cause in memory of Adam.
