Story
Foolishly, I have agreed to run this years Flora London Marathon which may well be a once in a lifetime event for me. As a result, I have decided to try and raise some money for what I believe to be a very good cause.
The charity I have decided to run for is the Clatterbridge Centre for Oncology (CCO).
Unfortunately, published statistics reveal that one in three people will be affected by cancer either directly or by a close relative/loved one being diagnosed. Unfortunately, I know several people who have been diagnosed recently with cancer and I have seen first hand the work good work carried out by the staff at Clatterbridge, and hopefully any money raised by my efforts will help to purchase new equipment, and/or improve services.
No contribution is too small and I would be personally very grateful for any donation that you could make.
Surely some money is well worth seeing me struggle to stagger round 26 miles!!!!
My efforts are also in recognition of the following brave people who have successfully battled or are currently fighting cancer, namely Rod Grundy, Si Tabb, my Aunty Linda, my Uncle Ken, Uncle Charlie and also Gary (you know who you are!!). It is also dedicated to the memory of Liam O’Neill and Pauline Gilhooley, people who lost their brave and dignified battles. RIP.
Thanks
Lee Brennan
ps.. Training is going well but v painful at times!!!! Thanks all for your overwhelming support for this I know all concerned are very thankful, not least me!
