(Jody’s story)

Well I’m back! But this time not alone! When we announced to everyone that Lee and I are going to be running the London Marathon 2019 together everyone just laughed! Not at me as they already know that I’m a bit mad and doing it for a second time doesn’t surprise anyone one.  At Lee! Lee who doesn’t run, doesn’t go to the gym, doesn’t play rugby anymore (just the odd vets game twice a year!) or any exercise for that matter at all! Yes, Lee will be going from Couch to 26 MILES in 26 WEEKS!!! A huge challenge that I admire greatly.  He doesn’t do things by half.  

Last year I begged you all to sponsor me and help me fundraise for this fabulous charity.  This time I’m asking you to get behind Lee.  For each pound he raises will keep him going when it gets rough and he wants to give up.   Believe me I know that feeling.  We will be training once again throughout the winter.  He will be working 11/12 hour days and then going straight out in the dark to train and then giving up his weekends for the gruelling long runs in the freezing cold.  Only For the big day to be the hottest on record!! hopefully not again this year 🤞

No doubt he will end up leaving me for dust on the day but I’m looking forward to sharing this amazing opportunity with him.

Go Big or Go Home!! From 0 to 26 miles in the same amount of weeks!! 

From sitting in an office 10 to 12 hours a day and then the sofa of an evening I decided I needed to start doing some kind of exercise and start to get fit   A goal that would keep me motivated and would keep me training.  

A marathon just seemed the obvious choice!!

What better marathon than London and what better charity than Farleigh Hospice.  Oh and clearly training and running with my wife!!

Farleigh is close to many peoples hearts and so local to home.  Every penny we raise helps them to help others. Please support me in helping me raise as I much as I can and encourage me to keep training.
