Story
Starting on Friday May 12th 2023, I will be taking part in the Brathay 10in10 for the second time. 10 marathons in 10 days, 262 miles around the iconic Lake Windermere, raising money to support the fantastic work the Brathay Trust does for young people.
It was October 2020, in the middle of the pandemic (also known as the monsoon edition) when I first experienced what the 10in10 is all about and what a challenge it is. You really do feel part of something very special, not only with the other runners and the support team, but also after discovering what amazing work the Brathay trust does and how they need our help now more than ever, anything I can do to support them feels a real privilege.
So why go back?? That's a good question, but once the fatigue had worn off after the event back in 2020, I think I knew within days I wanted to go back and experience again this incredible event, and (hopefully) this time, not in the middle of a pandemic and back to it's original date in May and maybe, just maybe, we'll have better weather than we did in October 2020!!
Once I spoke to Scott, and declared my interest and asked if I could apply again, Scott was very encouraging and thankfully I was given the chance to once again take on the challenge of 10 marathons in 10 days around Lake Windermere and help to raise essential funds for the Brathay Trust.
