Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

Well its finally happened.. I have been fortunate enough to secure a place in the 2017 London Marathon and will be running on behalf of Mencap.

Knowing someone who has Down's syndrome and seeing the challenges this brings for the individual and the family has shown me the importance of charities like Mencap and how valuable their on-going support is to families across the UK.

So with this in mind, I will be running the 26.2 miles as a way of saying a BIG thank you to Mencap for their tireless work, support and commitment to improving peoples lives.

Please help me say THANK YOU to Mencap by donating on my JustGiving page and help me reach my target of £1,750. Obviously I want to SMASH this total and would like you to be part of this amazing journey.

Your donation will make a real difference to peoples lives and I will be updating my page on a regular basis to let you know how the training and fund raising is going.

£10 can fund two calls to our helpline from people who urgently need advice.

£45 could help and Early Years Support Worker support a family for a day.

£100 could pay for specialised sports equipment giving children the chance to take part in inclusive activity.

£400 could pay for a person with a learning disability to complete a 13 week training course to help them into employment.

Thank you all, lets make this happen!!
