Story
Just over three years ago Mum was diagnosed with a rare form of cancer, to be specific a Leiomysarcoma. She has continued to fight this through surgery and ongoing chemotherapy treatment. There's one stubborn tumour that just won't go away and she has just started another course of chemo.
Whilst a small team, those people at Sarcoma UK do a great job at funding medical and scientific research (they actually funded clinical trials of the new treatment she is receiving), providing support and generally raising awareness about sarcomas. They make a big difference despite being a small charity and therefore donations are critical. All the sponsorship I raise will go directly to Sarcoma UK to support their ongoing research into this rare form of cancer.
Two years ago I competed in the Windsor Triathlon raising money for Macmillan Cancer Support. This year I've decided to double the distance and really challenge myself by entering the Antwerp Ironman 70.3. So come the 22nd of July, I'll be heading into the unknown as I aim to complete a 1.9km swim, 90km bike ride topped off by a half marathon in Antwerp (www.marcherremansclassic.be)!
Now here's the technical blurb...........
