Story

A little update.......

Unfortunately due to surgery needed on my eye which couldn't wait  I have had to move the skydive to Friday 3rd August 2022.

Thank you for all the donations so far. It really does mean alot....to both The family and St Ts.

I am doing a 15.000ft tandem skydive to raise funds for St T's.

My mum was diagnosed with a rare form of cervical cancer in Dec 2018 where she immediately started intensive Chemo and radiotherapy. Unfortunately this didn't work and had 4 sessions of brachytherapy which again didn't work.  All the time the tumours were growing and multiplying :(

On 18th Aug 2019 mum was told she was terminal and it'd also spread to her lungs. There was nothing more they could do and they gave her around 6 months. Over the next month tumours had spread to her spine and bones and her left side of her body was becoming numb....a bit more radiotherapy to try and reverse the numbness worked for a short while.

Mum didn't want to go into a hospice so me and dad looked after her at home.  St T's would come round a couple of times a day to help clean mum and keep her meds up to date.

Unfortunately mum passed on Nov 27th 2020

St Teresa's were amazing, not only for mum but also support for us as a family. And still ongoing support for us a year and a half on.

St Teresa's Hospice has been supporting residents of Darlington, South Durham and North Yorkshire for more than 30 years and we rely on our local community to raise over 70% of our total income each year. These are unprecedented times; with the outbreak of COVID-19 there is likely to be disruption to our usual fundraising activities in the coming months, with an adverse effect on income. Please, consider giving a gift to St Teresa's Hospice today to help us get through this difficult time, and to make sure those who need care and support can continue to access it. Send us a virtual hug (or elbow bump!) to show your support if everyone gave just £5 each it would make a massive difference to those in need. All donations will be greatly appreciated, and every penny will be spent locally on vital palliative and end of life care and support. Stay safe and keep following medical advice, but please don't wash your hands of us!

Proceeds after booking fee will be donated directly to St T's
