Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
I have decided to enter the London marathon in memory of my mum and wife’s Nan who both passed away from very short battles with Cancer in 2017. In January 2017 Irene (Kayleigh’s Nan) passed away after stomach cancer had took over her body after 7 weeks, this was a massive shock to us all and left a huge hole in the family. Irene was such funny and happy person she is missed so dearly.
2 months after losing Irene, my mum (Lesley) became ill. At first it was thought to be a chest infection but then it was quite quickly apparent it was something more serious. Mum was taken into hospital in an ambulance in early March, 2 day’s later we was told that she had lung cancer. That was the moment when I felt as though my world was caving in, I started to imagine the treatment process and what the next steps would be but unfortunately the cancer was spreading so fast that 3 weeks later mum passed away in hospital with myself, my brother and dad by her side. I think about mum everyday and miss her more and more, she idolised my wife and boys and the world is a cruel place to take her away far too soon.
I am running the London Marathon in honour of my Mum and Irene and hope to raise as much money as I can towards a charity who do so much for sufferers of cancer and support of their families.
