Lady Mayoress' Sleep Out Challenge · 30 March 2022 to 31 March 2022 ·

We raise funds to tackle issues through influencing change

Story

Homelessness in London is a significant issue.

I am joining the Lady Mayoress in sleeping out in Guildhall Yard (yes, that’s outdoors!) on 30 March to help raise awareness of the issues facing those without a home and to raise money for the Lord Mayor’s Appeal.  This year, the appeal is supporting The Duke of Edinburgh’s Award, National Numeracy, Place 2Be, OnSide and the Samaritans.  In additon, 10% of the funds raised from the sleep out will be donated to the Spitalfields Crypt Trust, which provides practical assistance (including running a coffee shop and a furniture restoration workshop) for those in East London enduring homelessness, addictions and other complex needs.

Hopefully my 30-something year old sleeping bag will do its job (see the photo gallery for a picture of the sleeping bag)!
