YES- WE DID IT !! ALMOST 80 OF US CLIMBED FOR TWO DAYS TO THE TOP OF MULHACEM AT 3482 M AND BACK TOWARDS GRANADA .
IT WAS AN EXHILIRATING EXPERIENCE FOR ALL OF US WITH GREAT WEATHER CONDITIONS FOR THE DURATION AND FANTASTIC SCENERY BUT WE WERE ALL IN NEED OF A LONG DRING AFTER 10 HOURS OF TREKKING ON SATURDAY AFTER STARTING AT 7.15 AM !
SINCERE THANKS FROM ME TO THE MANY OF YOU WHO HAVE SPONSORED ME SO FAR - ENABLING ME TO RAISE OVER £13,500 FOR THESE CHARITIES
FOR THOSE WHO HAVEN'T SPONSORED ME YET , PLEASE PLEASE DO YOUR BEST TOO HELP JUST A LITTLE IF YOU CAN , AS WE ARE STILL SHORT OF OUR TOTAL FUNDRAISING TARGET .
I have reached the stage in my life where I can readily give money to the many people who give up huge amounts of their personal time and energy raising money for very worthy causes. So now it's time for me to push myself a little and join in the Deloitte Charity Challenge Sierra Nevada Trek so that I can make a meaningful contribution to raise money for these charities. I really hope that the many friends , family and colleagues whose charitable causes I have sponsored in the past will help me achieve my target to raise at least £10,000.
Trekking to 3500 metres over 2 days in southern Spain in June sounded easy at first but for someone who hasn't climbed higher than the top of the Arc De Triomphe before , it's going to be quite a challenge. I am already enjoying climbing up and down 8 storEYSs of our building for 50 minutes three times a week (accompanied by my Spotify playlist ) as well as 3 weekend spinning sessions at my local gym and I hope to actually walk in the outdoors with a loaded backpack from time to time ! Of course it's much more fun than watching Fulham at the moment .
