Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
In March, four of us are taking on a challenge by doing the London Vitality "Big Half Marathon" in memory of our dear friend Karens (also participating) brother.
Lee ‘Lefty' Corke, at the age of 39, sadly died after a very short battle with cancer in July 2017.
He has left such a void in his family and friends lives, not to mention his wonderful two young sons who miss him each and every day!
Lee was such an amazing person and touched so many people's hearts, even during the toughest fight of his life. Whilst fighting this dreadful disease, Lee would still put others first and he really fought hard until the very end.
Lee spent the last week of his far too short life at Keech Hospice Care who cannot be thanked and praised enough for the care he received. The staff are amazing people and nothing was ever too much.
Lees room was always full of family and friends (day and night) and the care/support received (even after Lee's passing) went far above and beyond.
A lot of the staff do voluntarily work; they take time out of their busy lives to support families and their loved ones at the most difficult points in their lives.
We are running this race with Lee's sister Karen who is our dear friend and we cannot think of a cause we rather support having seen the upset,
hurt and pain losing Lee has caused.
To give something back to Keech Hospice Care and allow other families to receive the support and care Lee, his family and friends received would really mean the world to us.
We are not typical marathon, long distance or even half marathon runners, which makes this fundraising even more important to us.
All four of us, Keech Hospice and Lees family/friends would REALLY appreciate all the support we can get to raise funds for a fantastic
hospice that made the last few days together for such a beautiful family that bit more bearable.
Thank you for any donation you can give.... we genuinely mean it when we say every penny counts!!
Love
Karen, Rebecca, Jules and Bob
