Fundraising for JOINING JACK
My friend Andy Johnson isn't a man who does things by halves. When his four-year-old son Jack was diagnosed last year with Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy (DMD), he committed himself to raising money to fund research into a cure for his beautiful boy.
DMD is a devastating disease. It's a progressive muscle-wasting condition for which there is currently no cure. Children like Jack gradually lose the use of every muscle in their body. By the time he's a teenager, he will probably be unable to walk. He may need spinal rods to keep him upright, and ventilation to help him breathe. Eventually his heart and lungs will fail.
It is devastating for parents like my friend Andy to watch their child suffer and to know their life will be cut short. He says that "the day we tell Jack he is not well will be the toughest day of our lives".
Please donate as much as you can. Every penny raised will help fund clinical trials into treatments that could give Jack, and other children like him, a future.
