Story
Huntingtons is a disease that has affected my family in a very big way over the years. My mum passed away on 11th January 2013 after suffering with the disease for many years. She was so full of love and laughter and adored her family so much. She left behind five children, fourteen grandchildren and two great-grandchildren, with two more great-children that were on the way. This disease is hereditary and unfortunately my sister Tracy has inherited the gene. We are a very close loving family and it was hard enough watching my mum suffer through it but it's the knowing that my sister has seen first hand what this disease can do and what she has to face. All the family are very supportive to Tracy and want her to enjoy life to the full. She is certainly doing that, holidaying in Benidorm, a short break to Rome, weekend away in Edinburgh and looking forward to spending the new year in Tenerife. She celebrates her 50th birthday next June and most of the family will be joining her in Benidorm to make this the best birthday ever. We are also planning a charity tandem parachute jump around her birthday to again raise money for research into Huntingtons disease. We all admire Tracy for the way she is getting on with life and not letting this disease hold her back. So please dig deep and help me reach my target for this great cause.
