Sadia's Emergency aid for refugees in Lebanon

Sadia Noreen is raising money for Salam Charity

Emergency aid for refugees in Lebanon · 16 June 2022

Salam Charity was founded in 2011 with the aim to help fight poverty and transform lives. Every night over 800 million people go hungry and nearly 6 million children die each year from preventable diseases. Salam Charity aims to tackle this by providing lifesaving meals, clean water, sanitation, clothing and education. This will allow everyone to realise their birthright of living a happy life by developing their full potential. Salam Charity works in many countries around the world with a particular emphasis on the Rohingya emergency crisis. Salam Charity has a five year strategic plan which will focus on bringing a positive and lasting change in the lives of those affected by poverty. Our aim is to empower people for them to be in charge of their own destinies. We endeavour to support households, local communities and national institutions to develop longer term collective approaches to reinforce their capacities to better respond to, mitigate and prevent humanitarian emergencies and hunger crises. Supported by global celebrities, entrepreneurs, philanthropists, and social media influencers, We have one important mission: to save and change lives for the better. We will do what it takes to bring humanity closer to a world free from hunger and poverty.

Story

In the last year, I’ve been blessed to have visited Lebanon three times on deployment with Salam charity. Throughout these deployments, I’ve met so so many Syrian and Palestinian refugees, as well as, impoverished local Lebanese people who are all in desperate need of our support. From delivering emergency winter responses, to food pack distributions; cash donations to medical aid, your donations are helping so many people to survive and live another day.

Not only that, Salam charity have also invested in long-term sustainability projects so the people we help can begin to work again and receive their own income; thus, breaking the cycle of poverty. There is micro farming available for women, where they will grow and sell their produce; as well as, tuk tuk driving for men. These projects are being rolled out right now and we need your help to reach as many people as possible.  I’ve witnessed first hand the impact of these projects- we can help to restore their sense of honour and dignity again.

The refugees I’ve met have nothing, not even basic things that we so readily take for granted, like safe shelter, food and water. What they do have are hearts of gold, beautiful smiles and souls that live beyond this world and the little it has to offer them. Whilst we cannot change the world, we can help to make things a little better for them and ease their burdens and troubles.

Please support me in helping them as much as we can. Through this page, I will be fundraising for food security (including food packs, and meat distribution), emergency medical appeals, baby milk, nappies and sanitary products distribution and so much more.

For the Syrian, Palestinian and Lebanese communities, we are their only hope. It’s upto us to help as much as we can.
