Movember for the Technologies Team

 

As you know at this time of year a plethora of men try to grow the most amazing facial artistry, some look good (some not so much) but the important thing is that we raise money and awareness for a good cause and charity close to our hearts.

 

The charity we will be raising money for this year is Cystic Fibrosis (CF Trust) as Bert's daughter Beth was diagnosed with CF at 4 weeks old.

 

Cystic Fibrosis is one of the UK's most common life-threatening inherited diseases currently affecting over 9,000 people in the UK have CF, that's one in every 2,500 babies born. CF affects around 100,000 people around the world. 

 

CF is caused by a faulty gene that controls the movements of salt in the body. With CF internal organs become clogged with thick, sticky mucus resulting in infections and inflammation making it hard to breathe and digest food.

  

Treatment of CF can involve daily physiotherapy, medication (including antibiotics, vitamins, and pancreatic enzymes), and in many cases lung transplant can be the only option.

 

There is currently no cure for CF.

  

The CF Trust is the UK’s only national charity that funds medical and scientific research to treat and cure CF and aims to ensure that there is appropriate clinical care and support for people and families affected by the disease.  For more information please visit their website www.cftrust.org.uk

 

It’s our aim to raise as much money as we can during the month of Movember, so any donation will be greatly appreciated and will help this charity in the fantastic work they do for both families and the ongoing research into finding a cure.
