Thank you for supporting me to take part in Memory Walk this year and raise much needed funds for Alzheimer's Society.
I am doing this walk in memory of my beautiful nan. She was the best nanny anyone could ask for. She was also my best friend. Up until she died I spent alot of time with her, staying with her most weekends. She was my third parent. She had alot of input in my upbringing, which was a good one thanks to her, mum and dad. Everyone who knew my nan loved her. She was so caring, generous and cute. She used to come around four houses every Christmas morning with sacks and sacks of pressies for all the grandchildren. Sadly she didnt meet her youngest grandchild, so I will tell him about our lovely memories as he gets older. I have gone through the hardest times in my life and just wished she was there to give me the well needed advice. She was one special woman, but I am very biased.
It has been 6 years since we lost her to this cruel disease and I miss her so much and always will. She left behind five lovely daughters, four son in laws and 12 grandchildren, who she was very proud of. She would also be proud if she knew she had 2 great grandchildren due and would be a great aunt very soon.
All of the money I raise will help support people living with dementia and their families, like our family they need so much support as this is such a hard and trying time so your donation will make a huge difference.
Just £50 will pay for someone with dementia to go to a Dementia Café session every week for a month, where they can meet others, share experiences and feel less isolated. And the more I raise, the bigger the difference it will make.
