Story
Hello and thanks for visiting our just giving page!!
Team Saffron are back for another year taking on the Great North Run. Our runners this year are leanne, andy, kim and chris.
Leanne and andys daughter Saffron was born with biliary atresia having to have an operation at 3 weeks old removing the cyst in her liver, part of her bowel and gall bladder. Her health had been fine until 2015 and since then she has been put on a lot of medication to help her liver to work properly and have been told transplant will be next step as she now suffers from recurring bouts of cholingitis with her last hospital stay in just January this year.
Saffron is now a young adult just 17 years old and some days struggles with pain, sickness and tiredness due to her condtion but she batters on and manages to get her college work done on time , about to sit her first year A level exams. Saffron has contacted CLDF a lot through the years, getting support and advice and even going to events to meet children just like her. She uses the online facility they have so she can chat to other children and share experiences.
The charity do so much not just for the children who have to live with a liver disease condtion but also help parents and siblings on how cope and deal with the changes in life, give information on the condtion as there are so many and are also there just to listen.
So please folks we really hope that you can support us and donate what you can to our page while we take on the Great North Run.
Thank you 💛💙💛💙
