We are fighting to make a world where diabetes does no harm

Story

This year diabetes UK are holding the Big Fun Run in Aberdeen on 11th July.

Diabetes tends to be one of those conditions that many people don't know anything about until they either know someone with it or have been diagnosed themselves (until I was diagnosed it really didn't mean anything to me).  By raising money we can help to raise awareness and vital funding.

Diabetes plays an important part within my family with not only myself and my brother having Type 1 but also our dad being Type 2.  Being diabetic has been a constant struggle trying to maintain blood sugar levels and taking multiply daily injections, which is time consuming and more often than not a pain in the ass (leg or stomach as the case may be)!

Because the exact cause of diabetes has not yet been found there unfortunately is no cure, however, with sponsorship the solution may not be a million years away.  Treatment of diabetes has become much better over the last 20 years not only with different types of insulin available but with using pumps and in some cases transplants.

All support is gratefully appreciated as this charity needs funding to not only find a cure but also the cause of diabetes.  Please give generously as this cause is very close to home for me and everything counts towards a better future.

Dig deep!
