Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

Those who know me personally will know that I lost my Nan to breast Cancer in 2006 and tragically also lost my cousin Kerry in 2022 to the same relentless disease. Both were too young to be taken from us. Many family members and friends have been affected by cancer and I know the effect this has on the person battling and their family. For this reason, I am again choosing to support this amazing cause and raise money for Marie Curie, who are angels in a great time of need. I previously jumped out of a plane and raised over £1000 for Marie Curie and recent events have inspired me to raise more. In June, I’ll be walking 60 miles for Marie Curie.

Marie Curie Nurses work on the front line, night and day, in people’s homes across the UK, providing hands-on care and vital emotional support.

Their nine hospices offer the reassurance of specialist care and support, in a friendly, welcoming environment, for people living with a terminal illness and their loved ones around the UK.

Their trained Helper volunteers and advisers are available with practical information and support when you don’t know what to do next or just need to talk.

By donating to Marie Curie, you are funding care and support for people living with a terminal illness, and their families, across the UK.

£3 pays for a patient's nourishing meal whilst they stay in a hospices.

£17 funds a call to the Support Line, providing practical information and emotional support to someone when they need it.

£23 pays for one of the nurses to provide an hour of expert care and support to someone living with a terminal illness.

£120 heats one of the hospices for a day, so patients and their families can stay comfortable.

I appreciate we are all struggling at the moment and this may not be the best time to fundraise, but every £1 helps and if that’s all you have to spare, it’s still an amazing contribution. If we all come together, we can help support people in their time of need. Thank you in advance for any contributions / shares.
