On my sons 4th Birthday in 2011, my lovely lovely father in law was diagnosed with lymphoma. He went on to receive a lot of care, support and compassion while being treated at the royal marsden in sutton. Sadly despite a gallant fight he died on the 22nd May 2012.
He left a huge hole in our hearts and our lives. Even now when things come up that he would do such as DIY we still can't believe he is gone. The kids miss him and we miss him more than words can say.
At the end of last year a close friends husband died at the age of 33 after a lengthy battle with lymphoma. He left behind two young children and i cannot imagine how that must feel to his wife and family. All i know is that we need to beat cancer and that the royal marsden are striving to find cures every day.
Please dig deep, you never know when you or a loved one are going to need the support of this fantastic hospital and if you will benefit from their tireless research and trials to find a cure.
Events i am running in are:
29th March - Hampton Court Palace Half
31st May - Wimbledon Common Half Marathon (everyone needs a womble medal)
13th September - Bacchus half marathon
11th October - Royal Parks Half Marathon
25th October - Great South Run.
The training is going well and involves a lot of miles and a lot of hours, but i am lucky that i can do this.
In the words of Tesco "every little helps"
Thank you
