Story
My name is Leanne and I am going to take part in the Great South Run and raise money for my local Neonatal Unit based at the QA in Portsmouth. I am doing so because we had Aiden on the 13th April at 27+4 weeks into the pregnancy. He was ventilated at birth but very quickly progressed onto CPAP and then onto air. The care the staff gave throughout the 10 weeks was amazing, they are such a dedicated team who are so understanding and caring, they are always there for you as well as supporting tiny little miracles in becoming stronger. They genuinely care for the well being of the whole family and nothing is too much trouble if you ask for their help.
After all the support they gave in the unit and all the support we are still getting via the community team I feel I would like to give something back. Saying thank you just doesn't feel enough and what better way to show our thanks than raising some money so they can buy some desperately needed equipment.
I am raising money via Ickle Pickles, a charity dedicated to helping Neonatal Units get the equipment they need. Please follow my link for more information about them, http://www.icklepickles.org/ It's well worth a visit to understand what they do, why they do it, where it started and their journey on becoming a charity.
