Story
David Somers (my father) was an incredible man and will be proud of us all for doing as much as we can to raise awareness and money for this charity as possible.
My dad was diagnosed with a GMB Brain tumour on the 9th of August 2015 and sadly passed away so suddenly on the 26th August 2015. It was a fast rapid battle which is why more awareness is needed. We would of liked more answers and knowledge on this and what to be expected however the research information isn't out there.
Dad started his career in the Royal Navy moving on to the Royal Marines leaving at the age of 31. Moving swiftly on to becoming a deep sea diver, rope access technician, trainer and assessor. He was married to my Mam Joanne Somers for 27 years and also had my brother James as well as me!
So us Girls at Era 21 Plus (family business) are running the 5K race for life on the 5th June 2016 to raise as much funding for the charity and also make my Dad proud, and he would be utterly shocked if not the least!
Please help us to help https://www.thebraintumourcharity.org raise money to fund research into paediatric high grade gliomas and try and stop more children and adults dying from this horrific disease.
