Story

**Update 10/09/2020**

This one is all on Covid 19 - Our hike has now been delayed until October 2021 and will be taking us around Hadrian's Wall. Now we have no excuse for being out of shape!

**Update 23/06/2020**

Due to a variety of reasons, including bane of 2020 Covid 19, we are now doing the Mind Hike in October over the 9th & 10th

***************************************************

After the unexpected death of my younger brother Ricky, in August 2019, my mindset for what I want to contribute to life changed. I steered the conversation around our Lads Holiday in 2020 to be charity focused and to do something productive with our time.

With all six of us having been affected directly by a friend or a family member having difficulties with their Mental Health, the choice of charity was easily agreed to be MIND.

For those that know us, the selected charity should not be a surprise, however the event we have signed up for may raise a few eyebrows. For
reasons that are not truly clear, and with the teams ability levels ranging
from “Struggling to walk up the stairs” to “Out of breath popping to the shops” we have opted to do a 12 hour hike round Whitby. This is not an easy challenge and the level of difficulty shows how important raising funds for MIND is to all of us

With such a tough event to complete, we have set our fundraising target high and it would be massively appreciated if you donate whatever you can afford.

All money raised is going directly to the charity. Any costs for the trip and equipment is being covered out of our own funds.

As a final note, on 5th November 2019, my older brother Gary committed suicide. This has made my own reason for doing the Hike even more significant and by supporting MIND, it means less people have to go through similar experiences.

Thank You
