Story

In Leah's words:

As a founder member of REDRESS in 1992, I have witnessed the organization grow from a fledgling idea sparked by one torture survivor's unquenchable search for justice to a world class organization that, through the innovation and dedication of its staff, continues to lead the global campaign for justice and accountability for one of the world's most heinous crimes.

I have been actively engaged in the global human rights movement for over fifty years. In this time, I have had the privilege to work on a range of causes and to collaborate with some of the most renowned human rights activists across the globe. But it is REDRESS that has captured my heart and kept my attention for so long. I remain on the Board of REDRESS 25 years after I helped to found the organization because I see first-hand both the different REDRESS makes on a daily basis to the lives of some of the most marginalised and damaged individuals and  its impact on shaping policy and law.
