Story
When I was 13, my father was diagnosed with an aggressive form of blood cancer. His battle was tragically short, and we lost him far too soon. Living in East Africa at the time, there was no dedicated support, we were at a loss, not knowing what was happening or how to support him. The guidance and assistance of an organisation like Leukaemia Care would have been a lifeline for us.
Recently, a very close family friend received a diagnosis for another form of incurable cancer. Witnessing their journey has been incredibly difficult, but I have seen firsthand the invaluable support provided by a dedicated charity. They have ensured our friend lives comfortably with his diagnosis and offered vital assistance to his family throughout this challenging time.
The work Leukaemia Care does is truly phenomenal. Reflecting on my own family's experience, I know how much we would have benefited from the support and resources they offer. This is why I am running to raise money for Leukaemia Care. I want to express my heartfelt gratitude for the exceptional care and support they provide to those in need and help further their mission so that other families don't have to face such a diagnosis alone.
Please join me in supporting this important cause. No one should have to go through what my family did, and with your help, we can make a meaningful difference in the lives of those affected by blood cancers.
Leukaemia Care is a national charity dedicated to ensuring that anyone affected by blood cancer receives the right information, advice and support. Around 34,000 people are affected by blood cancer each year in the UK and leukaemia Care support them through their diagnosis, treatment and beyond.
