Story
Hey everyone! I'm a Cat Care Assistant at the Downham Market Adoption centre and I have decided to take part in the 2.6 challenge.
The 2.6 Challenge has been launched with supporters being encourage to join in from Sunday 26th April which would have been the date of the 40th London Marathon (26.2 miles long). It is the world’s largest, single day annual fundraising event, which raised £66.4 million for charities in 2019. Due to the Covid-19 out break this cannot take place this year, instead people are taking on the 2.6 challenge to help support the charities.
My challenge will be taking place at the centre itself, in one of our currently empty cat pens. I shall be in the cat pen for 26 hours by my self, taking lockdown to a whole new level. I'll be starting the challenge at 5:00am on the 8th May 2020 and finishing at 7:00am on the 9th May 2020.
We currently have 51 cats in care and we can have more than 100 cats at any time. Our centre helps nearly 1000 cats a year towards new beginnings and happy endings. The money I am raising will go towards vital funds during this uncertain time for the centre such as veterinary bills for Hector, a stray cat who was brought into the centre with a severely infected tongue and was having trouble eating and was drooling profusely. Without the centres help Hector would most likely have starved to death.
Please help me help the Cats at Cats Protection by sponsoring me.
Any funds raised above and beyond the target will be used to care for other cats and kittens in our care at Downham Market Adoption Centre.
Thanks in advance for your support and donations.
