Story
I'm taking part in the the Couch to 5K challenge and supporting Trinity Hospice. Over 9 weeks I will taking on the challenge to complete 3 sessions a week to reach my goal and complete 5K! I’ve always wanted to get into running and what better way to do it?
Please share this page and if you are able to, please help me reach my target - every little counts. The money raised on this page will all go to Trinity. I know times are tough at the moment so don’t feel like you have to donate if you aren’t able to, just sharing with others means the world to me!
On the 16th of April 2021, my dad Chris, aged 38, died after a long 3 year battle with cancer at Trinity Hospice. Up until the last few months of his life, our family had never had any previous experience with the hospice - the word hospice terrified our family as I'm sure it does for most people.
However, in my dad's final days, the care, compassion and love they showed my family was second to none. They allowed my mum to be his wife again after 3 years of being in more of a caring role, they allowed us to spend quality time together, they sorted out memory boxes for me and my 2 younger siblings, the hospice at home team were on hand 24 hours a day, doctors and consultants were there day and night to help ease his pain and relax him - the list is endless.
Everybody who is involved within the hospice does not get the recognition they deserve, Trinity relies upon donations from the public so that everybody affected by a life-limiting illness can get the care that they need and deserve. Going forward, my family and myself are dedicated to raising money for Trinity in memory of my dad and to give something back to them for the priceless care they gave to us at a time we needed it the most.
