Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
I am trekking to Machu Pichu to raise as much money as I can for St Clare Hospice in memory of my husband Wayne Hann, who died of melanoma skin cancer in October 2020 after a gruelling year of battling the disease.
Wayne and I spent the last two weeks of his life at St Clare’s and I don’t know how we’d have coped without their support. Wayne was the bravest, most kind hearted man who was loved by so many. He was the best husband any girl could have wished for and such an incredible Daddy to our Son Tommy who was just 7 when he died. Me, Tommy and his wonderful parents Annette and Glenn miss him terribly everyday.
The Charity
St Clare Hospice help so many people who have terminal or life limiting illnesses and their families. They provide invaluable care and the staff go above and beyond to do anything they can to help during the most difficult times. Over 60% of their £5million a year costs come from fundraising. £160 could pay to fund the in patient unit for one hour.
The Challenge
I will be trekking to machu pichu for an average of 6-8 hours per day uphill in high altitude reaching 4600 meters above sea level.
