(Updates at bottom)
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
I have wanted to do another Challenge for some time and this time I have chosen a charity that is going to help my dear friend Jane. I have paid for the Trek itself in full and so any money that I raise will go straight to Macmillan Cancer Support itself.
Jane & I met at ante-natal classes back in 1996 and we have remained firm friends ever since. Having had breast cancer in 2003 she was diagnosed with secondary cancer in her bones in July 2009.
Jane: "Although my cancer cannot be cured I am fortunate that the treatment and medications I have had so far have suppressed the cancer so I class myself as living with cancer as opposed to dying from it. Anyone who knows me will agree that I am not one to feel sorry for myself and mope around in self pity as life is for living and whilst I am well, I am determined to make the most of it! I know there will come a time when I will enter the dying stage and I am safe in the knowledge that Macmillan will be there to help and offer the support that my family and I will need"
What more can I say? This charity will not only help Jane, but lots of others too, some that you may know. I am going to do my bit for Macmillan, I hope you will press the button and do your bit too xxxx
Update (Sept 2011) I have reached my 'personal' target of £1000 but please dont let that put you off donating. Macmillan need every penny and I would be so grateful too - its such a worthwhile cause - go on, if you have got this far - just press the button!
Update (30 October 2011): Well I've been back 2 weeks and I DID IT! No blisters either - I love my boots!
China - what an amazing place! It certainly exceeded my expectations. The scenery was stunning, the photos really don't do it justice. The trekking was hard going but with my friend Liz by my side we laughed, cried and sang our way along that wall!
I was fortunate to be amongst a wonderful group of people who all had their own reasons for doing the challenge, their stories were inspirational.
I'd like to say thank you to everyone who has supported me through this adventure - I really couldn't have done it without you.

So please dig deep and donate now.
Did you know you can also now sponsor me by text? Just text LEAH99 followed by the amount you want (eg. £10) to 70070 and it will go directly to my page and to Macmillan Cancer Support - thank you x
