Story
We are Ric Ellis and Nic Wardell, 2 forces veterans and both ex RSMs , clocking up 45 years service between us. We feel its time to get personal in the fight against cancer, respecting our wonderful dads whilst raising money for a great charity!
Ric Ellis - My Dad, Tony Ellis, was a trucker. He was happily married for 56 years, had six kids and worked long haul till well past 70. When we were young his CB handle was 'Leadfoot Longrun'. This was simply because he did every trip available as fast as he could to win as much income for his family. He was taken from us by prostrate cancer just when he was enjoying his retirement. This challenge is to raise money for this great charity and show respect for a great dad , grafter and a fine man. X
Nic Wardell – My Dad, Mike Wardell, was a career soldier in the British Army, serving for over 35 years, both UK and around the world, married to my Mum Margaret for 55 years. Between them they raised 3 lads. My Dad was everything to us all with a very laid back approach to life which I have very much adopted. Dad was a grafter and ensured that mum and his three boys were taken care of especially when he had to go away with the military. Dad was sadly taken from us 74 years young through smoking related illness and is greatly missed by all. My Father in law, Don Belcher, is currently fighting against prostate cancer so this is at the forefront of my mind as I take on this challenge to raise money for Prostate Cancer.
Together we can make a difference so please donate to our cause.
