At the end of September 2018 our team of 6 officers from Greater Manchester Police (1 retired) will be attempting a relay swim of the English Channel - one of the busiest shipping channels in the world, no doubt accompanied by hundreds of jellyfish and maybe even the odd dolphin or shark.. and no wetsuits allowed!!

We will be swimming 1 hour stints in rotation until we have completed the 21 mile crossing that, depending on conditions will probably take anything from 12 - 16 hours (at least!). The training has been tough but is going well. We have all had our own individual challenges and goals and have been putting the miles in both in the pool and in the great open water.

We are raising money in support of The CHRISTIE  (http://www.christie.nhs.uk), the Manchester based organisation that goes above and beyond when it comes to the research, care and treatment of cancer.. an illness that has or is likely to affect every single one of us in some way either personally or through people that are very close to us.

We believe it is a worthy cause and any donation whatsoever will be greatly appreciated.
