It is with great trepidation that I have signed up for the Manchester Marathon... 26.2 miles! Yes, it will be tough. But not nearly as tough as carrying or pulling heavy loads or ploughing fields 7 days a week in the heat, under an unforgiving sun, being sick, malnourished or injured. This is what millions of working animals have to do, day in and day out.

The charity SPANA cares for these animals and their owners who rely on their animals and live in the most impoverished countries without any access to even basic veterinary care.

With your help I want to raise £ 380 for the donkeys, mules, oxen, camels and other animals in the world that are essential to the health and economic well-being of millions of vulnerable families.
