Story
Rebecca, Dan, Gareth and Chris will take on Mt. Fuji in July to raise money for Battersea Dogs and Cats Home.
Why Battersea? Most of you will know that four years ago we adopted a key member of our family, Honey.
She and many other abandoned and lost dogs often don't have a great chance at "living the dog's life," but Battersea does its utmost to make sure that when they are lucky enough to be found, that these defenceless and loving beings get to find families who truly deserve them.
We hope to raise as much money as we can for Battersea so they can continue to rescue, reunite and rehome lost and abandoned dogs and cats.
ALL FUNDS WILL GO TO THE CHARITY AND NOT COVER TRAVEL/ACCOMMODATION COSTS. We're already going to Japan, but we wanted the trip to give back in some way; so while we've already covered the costs of the trip, we'd love for you to sponsor our climb so this great cause can get the money it deserves.
Why Mt. Fuji? Well, rather than deal with the icy precipices of Everest or the death drops of K2, we felt that Fujisan, the Humble Mountain itself, is a far more achievable (though, for us, still taxing) feat. We can't do it in a day, so we'll spend the night in a mountain hut over 3 1/2 kilometres above sea level (way above the clouds) before a descent in the light of the Rising Sun the following morning.
We really appreciate the time you've spent visiting our JustGiving page; please don't feel pressured to give too much, any amount, no matter how small, will be more than appreciated.
“A wise man will climb Mt Fuji once; a fool will climb Mt Fuji twice.” - A Japanese Proverb.
