In October I will be running my second half-marathon and my goal is not only to get to the finish line quicker but to contribute towards a great and worthwhile cause. I  am proud to support the UK arm of Malaika Kids, a small, hands on registered charity run on a voluntary basis by its members and trustees.

Malaika Kids is a network of charities run by volunteers rescuing  orphans and the most vulnerable children from the streets of Dar es Salaam, Tanzania, and gives them a stable, cared for upbringing.

Malaika Kid’s aim is to support as many vulnerable or orphaned children as possible through flexible care programs. These aim to find the best individual solution for each child; whether adopted with wider family members or housed in the Children’s Village. They ensure they are properly looked after, go to school and have the opportunity to develop and thrive as individuals and adults.
