Please donate to my Big Winter Wander!
Laurie is 5 years old (6 on the 5th of February!) and he has been passionate about the environment since he watched Wall-E about 2 years ago. Last year he achieved his Green Blue Peter Badge after learning about the environment and litter picking around Rothesay. Along the way he told the people he met "I'm saving the planet!" And checked that they were putting their litter in the bin.
He is planning to walk from his home in Rothesay to Port Bannatyne, a distance of 5k, and litter pick along the way to fundraise for WWF-UK. He is concerned about plastic waste in the ocean and says "sometimes when you're eating fish, you might be eating plastic". He also says "if we don't look after the animals, they might become extinct. And if we don't look after the planet, then we might become extinct."
During 12th – 25th February I'm doing a sponsored walk and taking part in The Big Winter Wander. Our world needs help like never before. We’re destroying our forests, polluting our rivers and oceans, and causing devastating changes to the climate – and we’re seeing the effects on our own doorstep. Here in the UK, we’ve lost so much wildlife, we’re now one of the 10% most nature depleted countries in the world. But there is hope. Please sponsor me today. When you donate you’ll be helping WWF-UK protect and restore our world, keeping it safe for future generations.
